Christians have long held the belief that praying for others is a good thing, as it helps them when need it the most, the same way you would need such help from them in tough times. We live at a time when praying for others is important. There are many reasons that support this, not just now but at any other time as well.
When you pray for others, they receive that much-needed help. The Bible contains many examples of incidents where people prayed for each other to great results. Prayer is a powerful force which you shall do well to use for others. While God will decide on what to do about the person you are praying for anyway, it helps to pray for them as it keeps them in your thoughts and shows the spirit of humanity and unity. Praying for others is asking for intercession. When you pray for others, you are asking Jesus and the Holy Spirit to intervene can prevent a much worse fate from befalling those you pray for. We can see this in the Bible where Jesus gives us this example to follow. He did everything for others, and out of love. There is no better illustration of the power of prayer for others. He came down to earth to intercede on our behalf before God, His Father. We, therefore, need to do our best for others when they need it, to pray to God that He may be kind to them, He may rescue them, or He might spare them their fate. This is what Christ did for us all. When the Holy Spirit is not happy, neither are we. When the Holy Spirit is happy, so shall we find ourselves. The things the Holy Spirit cares about, we should too. By interceding in prayer for others, we follow this instruction from the Holy Spirit.
When we pray for one another, we also increase our love for each other. You shall find that as you pray for others, your feelings and thoughts towards them grows better and stronger. Imagine if we all did that for one another. You can learn more about Bible verses at https://godtv.com/4-powerful-prayers/.
At the same time, by praying for one another, we bring glory to God. We shall be as the image of God when we care enough for one another, as He did us. God intended for human beings to care for one another, and so spending some time in prayer, not just for yourself but remembering the needs of others, it goes in line with what He does for us. This becomes a powerful thing that shall see those who have been prayed for receive God’s blessing, as shall those who prayed.
